Neo-angin lozenges are an antiseptic drug for the mouth and throat.

WHAT ARE NEO-ANGIN LOZENGES AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?
Neo-Angin lozenges are lozenges for use in sore throats, pharyngitis, hoarseness, colds, angina, inflammation of the mouth and throat (pharyngitis) and inflammation of the gums.
How is it used?
What are neo-angin lozenges and what are they used for?
Neo-angin lozenges are an antiseptic drug for the mouth and throat.
Neo-angin lozenges are lozenges for use in sore throats, pharyngitis, hoarseness, colds, angina, inflammation of the mouth and throat (pharyngitis)
and inflammation of the gums in adults, adolescents and children aged six
years and over.

Neo-angin lozenges must not be used,
- if you are allergic to 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmetacresol, levomenthol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the airways. Inhalation of neo-angin lozenges can lead to shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack.
- in children under 6 years of age.
Warnings and Precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using neo-angin lozenges.
Children
Neo-angin lozenges must not be used in children under six years of age. Children must be able to control the sucking of lozenges in order to use neo-angin lozenges.
Use of neo-angin lozenges with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using, have recently taken / used or intend to take / use any other medicines.
Interactions are not known.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
There is insufficient data on the use of neo-angin lozenges in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Due to lack of experience, the use of neo-angin lozenges is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
There are no data on the effect on fertility.
Driving and using machines
There is no evidence of an effect on the ability and operation of machines. No studies have been conducted.
Neo-angin lozenges contain cochineal red A (E124), glucose and sucrose
Neo-angin lozenges contain the colouring agent cochineal red A (E124), which can trigger allergic reactions.
This medicine contains 1.14 g glucose and 1.42 g sucrose per lozenge, which corresponds to a calorific value of approx. 10 kcal (42 kJ). This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Frequent and prolonged use of neo-angin lozenges can be harmful to the teeth (caries).
Please only use neo-angin lozenges after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.
How should the medicine be taken?
How should neo-angin lozenges be taken?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Unless otherwise prescribed, adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over should slowly dissolve 1 lozenge in their mouth every 2-3 hours (maximum 6 lozenges per 24 hours).
Neo-angin lozenges should not be used for more than 3-4 days without medical advice.
Type of application
For sucking. For oral use.
If you have used more neo-angin lozenges than you should
No case of overdose is known to date. In the unlikely event of an overdose, the side effects described could be intensified. In this case, symptomatic treatment is recommended.
If you forget to use neo-angin lozenges
Do not use double the amount if you have forgotten the previous application. Continue using as usual.
If you stop using neo-angin lozenges prematurely,
please talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the reasons for this.
If you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What side effects are possible?
How should neo-angin lozenges be stored?
Do not store above 25ºC.
Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the folding box/blister pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. You help to protect the environment.
