doc Ibuprofen pain gel is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine for rubbing into the skin.
Application:
For external symptomatic or supportive therapy in:
- Swelling and inflammation of the soft tissues close to the joints (e.g. bursa, tendon bursa, tendonitis).bursae, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments and joint capsules),
- blunt injuries such as bruises, sprains, strains

What should you be aware of before using doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel?
doc Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel must not be used
- if you are allergic to the active substance ibuprofen, to dimethylisosorbide, to other painkillers and rheumatism medicines (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- on open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin, as well as on eczema or on mucous membranes.
- under airtight dressings.
- in the last trimester of pregnancy.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using doc Ibuprofen pain gel,
- if you suffer from asthma, hay fever, swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose (so-called nasal polyps). nasal polyps), chronic narrowing of the respiratory tract or chronic respiratory infections (especially coupled with hay fever-like symptoms), or have a hypersensitivity to painkillers and rheumatism medicines of any kind.
These patients are affected by asthma attacks (so-called analgesic intolerance/analgesic asthma), localised swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (so-called Quincke's oedema) when using doc Ibuprofen pain gel. In these patients, doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel may only be used under certain precautions and direct medical supervision. The same applies to patients who also have hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions to other substances, such as skin reactions, itching or hives.

Children and adolescents
doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel should not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age, as no adequate studies are available for this age group.
Use doc Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.
If doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel is used as directed, no interactions have been reported so far.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Pregnancy:
If pregnancy is detected during the use of doc Ibuprofen Pain Gel, the doctor should be informed. You may only use doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor.doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy because of the increased risk of complications for mother and child.
Lactation:
The active substance ibuprofen and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in only small amounts. Since adverse effects on the infant have not been reported so far, interruption of breast-feeding will not usually be necessary in the case of short-term use. However, a daily dose of 15 g gel should not be exceeded and early weaning should be considered in case of prolonged use.
In order to avoid absorption by the infant, breastfeeding women must not apply the medicinal product to the breast area.
Driving and ability to operate machinery
No special precautions are necessary.
How should the medicine be taken?
How should doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel be used?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
doc Ibuprofen pain gel is used 3 times a day. Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, a 4 - 10 cm gel strand corresponding to 2 - 5 g gel (100 - 250 mg ibuprofen) is required.
The maximum total daily dose is 15 g gel corresponding to 750 mg ibuprofen.
Use in children and adolescents
doc Ibuprofen pain gel should not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age, as no sufficient studies are available for this age group.
Type of application:
For external use only! Do not ingest!
doc Ibuprofen pain gel is applied to the skin and rubbed gently into the skin.
Increased penetration of the active ingredient through the skin can be achieved by using iontophoresis (a special form of electrotherapy). Here doc ibuprofen pain gel is to be applied under the cathode (negative pole). The current intensity should be 0.1 - 0.5 mA per 5 cm² electrode surface, the application duration approx. 10 minutes.
Duration of application
The attending physician decides on the duration of application. As a rule, one application over 2 - 3 weeks is sufficient. The therapeutic benefit of use beyond this period has not been proven.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel is too strong or too weak.
If you have used a larger amount of doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel than you shouldIf the recommended dosage is exceeded when applying to the skin, the gel should be removed again and washed off with water. In case of use of substantially excessive amounts or accidental ingestion of doc Ibuprofen Schmerzgel, the doctor must be informed.
A specific antidote (antidote) does not exist.
If you forget to use doc Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel
Do not use twice the amount if you have forgotten to use it before.
