What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What should you be aware of before taking Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice?

Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice must not be taken if you are allergic to thyme or other labiates (Lamiaceae), ivy or other araliaceae or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice.
If you have difficulty breathing, fever or a purulent or bloody cough, consult a doctor immediately.
Caution is advised in patients with gastritis or peptic ulcer.

Children
Because of the alcohol content and as there is insufficient data, use in children under 1 year of age cannot be recommended.
If children between 1-4 years of age experience a cough that is prolonged or recurs, a doctor should be consulted.
Taking Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
No interactions with other medicines are known to date.
Studies with Bronchipret Juice on possible interactions with other medicinal products administered at the same time are not available.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

In the absence of adequate data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.

Driving and ability to operate machinery
No relevant studies have been conducted on the effect on the ability to drive a vehicle or operate machinery.

Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice contains alcohol and maltitol solution
This medicinal product contains 7 % alcohol by volume.% alcohol, i.e. 0.30 g alcohol per single dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over (= 5.4 ml), corresponding to 8 ml beer or 3 ml wine, or up to 0.24 g of alcohol per single dose for children aged 6-11 years (= 4.3 ml), corresponding to 6 ml of beer or 2 ml of wine, and up to
0.18 g of alcohol per single dose for children aged 1-5 years (= 3.2 ml), corresponding to 5 ml of beer or 2 ml of wine.
There is a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism. The alcohol content should be taken into account in pregnant or breastfeeding women and in children and patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.

This medicinal product contains maltitol. Please only take Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice after
consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.
Note for diabetics:
1 single dose for adults as well as adolescents from 12 years of age (= 5.4 ml) contains an average of 0.18 chargeable bread units (BE).

How should the medicine be taken?

How to take Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Because of the alcohol content and as insufficient data are available, use in children under 1 year of age cannot be recommended.

How to use
Ingestion.
Dose with the enclosed calibrated measuring cup and take Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice undiluted. Afterwards, some liquid (preferably water) can be drunk.
Shake well before use!

Duration of use
If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.

If you have taken a larger amount of Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice than you should
No cases of overdose have been reported.
In case of extreme overdose, stomach complaints, vomiting, diarrhoea are possible. In this case, please notify a doctor. The doctor can decide on any measures that may be necessary.

If you forget to take Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice
If you have not taken enough Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice or have forgotten to take it, do not take twice the amount next time but continue to take it as described in the dosage instructions.

If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

- The active ingredients are: 10 g (equivalent to 8.85 ml) contain 1.50 g fluid extract of thyme herb (DEV 1 : 2-2.5), extraction agents: ammonia solution 10 % (m/m): glycerol 85 % (m/m): ethanol 90 % (V/V): Water (1 : 20 : 70 : 109),
0.15 g fluid extract of ivy leaves (DEV 1 : 1), extraction agent: ethanol 70 % (V/V)

The medicinal product contains 7 vol.-% alcohol.

- The other ingredients are: 40.0 g maltitol solution, 5.5 g ethanol,
citric acid monohydrate, potassium sorbate, hydroxypropylbetadex.
1 ml corresponds to 1.23 g.

Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice is a light brown, clear liquid for oral use.
Bronchipret Thyme Ivy Juice is available in amber glass bottles with polyethylene pouring ring and polypropylene closure in pack sizes of 50 ml and 100 ml.
Calibrated measuring cup made of polypropylene with the following dosage divisions:
1.1 ml, 2.2 ml, 3.2 ml, 4.3 ml and 5.4 ml.
