What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING Diarrhoesan Juice?

Diarrhoesan Juice must not be taken

if you are allergic to apple pectin or chamomile flowers or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. of this medicinal product.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your pharmacist before taking Diarrhoesan Juice.

Make sure you drink plenty of fluids.

Chronic diarrhoea can be a symptom of serious illnesses, so if the symptoms persist for a long time, the cause must always be clarified by a doctor. Repeated diarrhoea can lead to occasional life-threatening water and electrolyte losses, especially in children, the circulatory unstable or elderly, so care should be taken to ensure fluid and electrolyte replacement.
Children

The use in children under 6 months of age cannot be recommended as sufficient data are not available.

The use in children from 6 months to 2 years of age must only be carried out under medical supervision in order to exclude life-threatening water and electrolyte losses due to diarrhoea.


Take Diarrhoesan Juicewith other medicines
.Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take any other medicines.

No studies have been conducted to detect interactions.

Taking Diarrhoesan Juice with food and drink
Attention should be paid to adequate fluid replacement.

Adult adolescents and children from 6 years of age:
The effect can be improved or occur more quickly if all food is avoided as far as possible while taking Diarrhoesan juice.

Children from 6 months to 6 years:
Diarrhoesan juice can also be given in drinks, soup or porridge. A change in diet is not necessary in many cases.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking this medicine.

There is no evidence to date of any risks associated with the use of Diarrhoesan Juice during pregnancy and breast-feeding. However, results of studies on the use during pregnancy and lactation are not available. Use with caution during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Driving and ability to operate machinery
Diarrhoesan Juice has no or negligible effect on driving and ability to operate machinery.

Diarrhoesan Juice contains aspartame
as a source of phenylalanine and may be harmful if you have phenylketonuria.

Diarrhoesan Juicecontains alcohol and propylene glycol
This medicine contains 1.5 vol.% alcohol, which is up to 0.35 g per 30 ml (maximum single dose for adults and children over 6 years), corresponding to 9 ml beer or 4 ml wine. There is a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism.
For pregnant or breastfeeding women and for children and patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy, this should be taken into account.

This medicinal product contains up to 86 mg propylene glycol per dosage volume.

How should the medicine be taken?

HOW TO TAKE DIARRHOESAN JUICE?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Use in children under 6 months of age cannot be recommended as insufficient data are available.

For measuring the indicated dosages, each pack contains a scaled measuring cup.

For ingestion. Shake before use!

Adult youths and children from 6 years:
The effect can be improved even more or occur more quickly if all food is avoided as far as possible while taking Diarrhoesan juice.

Children from 6 months to 6 years:
Diarrhoesan Juice can also be given with drinks, soup or porridge. A change of diet is not necessary in many cases.

Allow for adequate fluid replacement.

If you take a large amount of Diarrhoesan Juice. took more than you should.
No cases of overdose have been reported.

If you stop taking Diarrhoesan Juice. have forgotten
Do not take double the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.

What are the possible side effects?

Do not dispose of medicinal products in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.
