Hell, fresh, drinkable beer has always been one of the most popular types in Bavaria and also in Franconia and so it is not surprising that "Helle" has always been of great importance at the Bayreuth brewery - right up to the present day.

Even during the triumphant advance of Pilsner beer, it by no means lost its status at the Bayreuth brewery. Brewing an excellent Bavarian Helles is the true art of brewing and a real challenge for the brewmasters, because even the smallest imperfection would be immediately exposed by the experienced beer lover. 

In the north of Bavaria is the world record region of Upper Franconia. With the highest density of breweries in the world, the region is affectionately known as "Bierfranken" or "Genussregion". This region is the home of the Bayreuth Brewery and the place where they create their delicious and typical Bavarian beers. They brew all their beers according to the Bavarian Purity Law and recipes that have been passed down from master brewer to master brewer for many generations. With the permitted four ingredients, the brewers prove their craftsmanship every day.
