The Schärdinger brand now looks back on over 100 years of tradition. A fact they are proud of! The brand was founded in Upper Austria in 1900.
In the early 1950s, the company was renamed "Schärdinger OÖ Molkereiverband". Extensive investments were made in the main locations of Schärding, Linz and Vienna, and Schärdinger began to look for export markets. In the mid-1990s, Berglandmilch was officially founded: the six Schärdinger dairy associations. Thus, many small milk-processing cooperatives became one of Europe's most modern food companies.
Today, the Schärdinger brand, under the umbrella brand Berglandmilch, is one of the strongest dairies in Central Europe and one of Austria's largest and most innovative food-producing companies – a fact they are proud of.
