It is brewed with green tea and contains numerous microorganisms and bacterial cultures. Since these cultures are meant to be preserved, deliberate heat treatment is avoided. This creates a delicate sweet-sour aroma that makes the kombucha unique.
KRUT, short for "Surkrut", is the Old High German term for sauerkraut, still commonly used in the Alemannic linguistic area today. The company KRUT revives the traditional culinary art of fermenting and refines fruits & vegetables into highly valued products.
Furthermore, a stand is taken against food waste: vegetables & fruits that would otherwise be thrown away get a second chance. Through fermentation, surplus food is reused and preserved.
