Dr Böhm Black Cohosh 6.5 mg Film-Coated Tablets are a herbal medicine for the relief of menopausal symptoms (such as hot flushes and sweating).

During menopause, the ovaries slowly stop producing female sex hormones. This change in hormone levels can cause unpleasant symptoms such as hot flushes, sweating, sleep disturbances and mood disorders such as listlessness, irritability and nervous restlessness.
If you do not feel better or worse after 6 weeks, consult your doctor.

Dr. Böhm Black Cohosh 6.5 mg Film-Coated Tablets must notbe taken
- if you are allergic to black cohosh or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- if you currently have liver disease.
- if you are receiving medical treatment for a tumour whose growth could be affected by certain hormones (oestrogens) (e.g. breast cancer or other types of cancer).

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Dr Böhm Black Cohosh 6.5 mg Film-Coated Tablets.

Children and adolescents:
There is no indication for Dr Böhm Black Cohosh 6.5 mg Film-Coated Tablets in children and adolescents under 18 years of age or in men.

- If you have a history of liver disease, you must use this medicine with particular caution.
- If signs of liver damage occur (yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, pain in the upper abdomen, nausea, loss of appetite, tiredness) you must stop taking Dr. Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg Film-coated tablets immediately and consult a doctor.
- If intermittent bleeding or other complaints occur, consult a doctor.
- If you are receiving concomitant hormone replacement therapy, medical supervision is required.

Taking Dr Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg Film-coated tablets together with other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

As there are insufficient data available, the use of Dr. Böhm Black cohosh cannot be recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Women of childbearing age should use effective non-hormonal contraceptive methods while taking this medicinal product.

Trafficability and ability to operate machinery
No relevant studies have been conducted on the effect on the ability to drive a vehicle or operate machinery.

Dr Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg Film-coated tablets contain lactose(milk sugar).

Please take this medicine only after consulting your doctor
if you are known to suffer from a sugar intolerance.
Note for diabetics: 1 film-coated tablet contains 0.01 bread units.

How should the medicine be taken?

HOW TO TAKE DR. BÖHM DRAUBEN SILVER CANDLES 6.5 MG FILM TABLETS Take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
Women in menopause: 1 film-coated tablet daily

Application in children and adolescents:
For Dr. Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg film-coated tablets there is no
administration in children and adolescents under 18 years of age and in men.

Method of administration:
To take. The film-coated tablet should be taken unchewed with plenty of liquid.

Duration of use:
Dr. Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg film-coated tablets do not have an immediate effect; the effect becomes apparent after 2 weeks of treatment.

If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 6 weeks of use, you must consult a doctor.

Dr. Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg Film-coated tablets must not be taken for longer than 6 months without medical advice.

If you take a large amount of Dr. Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg Film-coated tablets than you should,
No cases of overdose have been reported.
If you have forgotten to take Dr. Böhm Black cohosh 6.5 mg Film-coated tablets:
Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten to take it before. Take the next usual dose at the usual time.

The active substance is: dry extract of black cohosh (Cimicifugae rhizoma)

1 film-coated tablet contains:
6.5 mg dry extract of black cohosh, drug-extract ratio 4.5-8.5:1,
extractant 60 vol.% ethanol.

The other ingredients are:
Cellulose powder, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 4000, maize starch, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), titanium dioxide (E171).
