WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Loosener Syrup is a medicine to make it easier to cough up phlegm.If you do not feel better or even worse after 3-5 days, consult your doctor.
For the symptomatic treatment of cough with stuck, viscous phlegm in adults
and adolescents aged 14 and over.

What should you be aware of before taking WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup?
WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup must not be taken
- if you are allergic to guaifenesin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- if you suffer from severe, in particular also chronic diseases of the stomach and intestinal mucosa
- in the case of kidney dysfunction
- during pregnancy and breast-feeding
- in patients with bronchial asthma or a respiratory tract disease associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract.
- of children and adolescents under 14 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup.
If hypersensitivity reactions occur, e.g. shortness of breath (see also section 4. What side-effects are possible "Diseases of the immune system"), discontinue therapy immediately. Inform a doctor immediately.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup if you suffer from
- slightly impaired kidney function
- mild diseases of the stomach and intestinal mucosa
.- Diseases in which mucus cannot be sufficiently coughed up, such as myasthenia gravis (a disease of the body's immune system that leads to premature
fatigue of the muscles during exertion)
- chronic or persistent cough due to smoking, chronic bronchitis or emphysema.
When using expectorant medicines, such as WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Loosener Syrup, please ensure that you drink sufficient fluids throughout the treatment period.
This medicine may falsify the result of a certain laboratory test (5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid test or vanillin mandelic acid test). Tell your doctor if you are taking this medicine.
Taking WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup with other medicinesInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not want to take/use any other medicines.
WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup may increase the effect of
- sedative (tranquillising) medicines (known as tranquillisers). sedatives)
- muscle-relaxing (relaxing) medicines which are used, for example, during anaesthesia [anaesthesia]
during an operation.
The effect of other medicines may be impaired or increased by the alcohol content of this medicine.
If medicines that suppress the urge to cough are taken at the same time, there may be an obstruction when coughing up mucus from the bronchi.
Taking WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup with food, drinks and alcohol
Simultaneous intake of drinks containing alcohol should be avoided.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking this medicine.
WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup must not be taken during pregnancy because there is evidence of malformations (umbilical hernias) in humans.
WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup must not be taken when breast-feeding as it is not known whether the active substance (guaifenesin) passes into breast milk.
Do not drive or use machinery
! Caution: This medicinal product may impair the ability to react and the ability to drive.
No studies are available on the effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery. Due to the alcohol content and the muscle-relaxing effect of high doses, as well as the possible occurrence of dizziness,
reactivity may be impaired.
WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup contains sucrose, sodium and alcohol
Please take WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup only after consulting your doctor.Please only take WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup after consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.
15 ml contain 5.5 g sucrose, corresponding to approx. 0.46 bread units (BE). If you have to follow a diabetic diet, you should take this into account.
This medicine contains 5 vol.% ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 0.63 g per dose, corresponding to
15 ml beer, 6.25 ml wine per dose. Health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism. Should be considered in pregnant or breastfeeding women as well as in children and patients with increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.
This medicinal product contains 30 mg sodium (main component of table salt) per 15 ml. This corresponds to 0.75 % of the maximum daily
sodium intake with food recommended for an adult.
How should the medicine be taken?
How to take WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is for adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over:
3 - 4 times daily 15 ml (as marked on the measuring cup).
Children and adolescents under 14 years of age:
Due to lack of experience and due to safety concerns about the alcohol content, this medicinal product must not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age (see also section "WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup must not be taken").
Make sure you drink enough fluids during therapy with WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Loosener Syrup.
You should limit self-treatment with WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Loosener Syrup to 3-5 days. If there is still no significant improvement in the coughing up of mucus or if the cough persists, a doctor should be consulted as a more serious illness may be present.
How to use
Ingestion.
Shake before use.
Press down the childproof lock to open it and at the same time turn it in the direction of the arrow. Rinse the measuring cup after use.
If you have taken a larger amount of WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup than you should
Mild to moderate overdosage may cause dizziness, gastrointestinal complaints, nausea, vomiting or muscle relaxation. If the amount taken is greatly excessive, agitation, confusion and restriction of respiratory function are to be expected. In this case, the nearest available doctor should be consulted immediately.
Nearney and bladder stones have been observed with prolonged ingestion of very large amounts.

What WICK 200 mg/15 ml Cough Lozenge Syrup contains
The active substance is: guaifenesin. 15 ml contain 200 mg guaifenesin.
The other ingredients are: Sucrose, ethanol 96%, sodium benzoate (E 211), saccharin sodium, polyethylene oxide, carmellose sodium, sodium citrate dihydrate ,anhydrous citric acid, macrogol stearate, propylene glycol, levomenthol, honey ginger flavour, verveine flavour, purified water.
