About the producer:

Behind echt-Schreckbauer is master butcher Sepp Mayer and his organic farm Schreckgut (“Oberseidl”) in Bischofshofener, Gainfeldtal.  Here – on a farm over 300 years old at approx. 1000m – he raises organic cattle, organic sheep, and free-range pigs together with his family. The farm butchery is also located directly on the farm. This was optimized and expanded in 2022. Thus, high-quality products can now be created. “Sepp” is very proud of the new climate-controlled rooms and the maturation room for Dry-Aging, where prime cuts of organic beef and free-range pork often mature for weeks to optimize taste and tenderness.

Our animals live with us on the organic farm and enjoy a life in the open air, which eliminates long transport routes and allows them to be slaughtered stress-free directly on the farm.
