Rispenparadeiser (tomatoes)

The tomatoes grow 365 days a year in a greenhouse and are harvested ripe by hand. They are certified with the AMA seal of approval. The greenhouse is located in Enzersdorf an der Fischa in beautiful Lower Austria. The short transport routes allow for harvesting at the best ripeness. Artificial light and heating in winter, ventilation and the work of our bumblebee colonies, which take care of the fertilization, enable ideal growing conditions even in cold seasons.

The tomatoes are packed in their own hall. The greenhouse protects the plants from external influences, such as weather conditions, storms, hail, heavy rain but also temperature fluctuations, thus a constant climate can be created. The greenhouse also protects the tomato plants from pests.

In winter, unlike imported goods, fully ripe tomatoes can be harvested.

The energy supply / electricity is provided by our own combined heat and power plant, which results in less energy transmission losses. The CO² released during electricity production serves as a plant nutrient for growing tomatoes. The excess heat energy is used to heat the greenhouse.

Storage recommendation

To store tomatoes properly at home, remember: Not in the refrigerator! Let them bask in their own 'tomatoey' glory on the counter, rather than cooling their passion for flavor.
