Are you plagued by wanderlust? We know it. We know it so well...
Since travel is currently only possible to a limited extent, we have come up with the next best alternative: Get a portion of the south at home now. At gurkerl.at you can find bananas, mangos and kiwis as well as other tropical fruits that bring a touch of holiday flair to your home. Do you know Granadilla? Curubas? And what is the difference between passion fruit and passion fruit?
And what is the difference between passion fruit and passion fruit?
When we browse through the category 'tropical fruits', we ask ourselves with almost every fruit: How do you eat it? What should it optimally taste like? Is it edible, even if it looks unusually discoloured?
Instead of strolling through the market in picturesque Cartagena (can you hear the sound of the sea in the background?) or chatting with street vendors:inside in Quito, you can find out about some tropical fruits online here - and then order and taste them right away at gurkerl.at.
We introduce you to four different fruits, all of which belong to the passion flower family: Curuba, Passion Fruit, Granadilla and Passion Fruit.
All the love,
Your gurkerl.at team

Where The Tropical Fruits, Pickles Dear Team Come From?

Encantado, Juan Matas. Juan is our supplier of tropical fruits from Colombia.
Carlos (our fruit buyer and film star of the apple video for those who have seen it on Facebook) knows Juan and his growing area personally. We get the products directly from Juan, there are no wholesalers or middlemen. Carlos talks to Juan regularly, in the office we often hear the melodic Spanish sound: 'Hola, ¿Como estas, Juan?...Entonces.... Bueno, bueno...' Almost like walking to the market...
Juans son Sebastian now runs the family business, which can draw on 30 years of experience in fruit growing. The Matas family's cultivation area is located in the eastern plains of Colombia. The fruits are of particularly high quality (in terms of taste, size and appearance). The family farm has GRASP certification and the crops are Global Gap certified.
We are delighted that Juan Matas is part of our cucumber community and that he provides us and our customers with wonderful, tropical fruits.

What You Should Definitely Know About Tropical Fruit
Tropical fruits behave somewhat differently during the ripening process than our domestic fruit. The skin begins to shrivel" and develops light spots on some varieties. This may not look fresh to our untrained eye. Nevertheless,
the fruits are then particularly ripe and tasty.
The more shrivelled, the sweeter! So don't be alarmed if your fruit doesn't look Hollywood a few days after delivery. We are there for authenticity at full length. And as we all know, beauty (in this case taste) comes from within.
And as we all know, beauty comes from within.
It is best to store the tropical fruits after the pickles have been delivered at room temperature and not in the fridge. After all, they are exotics, they don't like the cold.
