Maranhof Heritage Breed Egg Mix 6-pack

This Heritage Breed 6-pack Mix exclusively contains eggs from breeds such as Marans, Bresse-Gauloise, Araucana, Sulmtaler, and Sandschak-Kräher hens, which have a low laying performance and therefore very high egg quality. These dual-purpose chickens live in sustainable free-range conditions in Austria and also include male roosters to better form social structures within the hen group.

The Maranhof team has partnered with veterinarian and chicken expert Dr. Beate Schuller to be able to provide an even greater variety of heritage breed chicken eggs for conscious consumers.

As with all other Maranhof farms, the well-being of the chickens is paramount, and thus we receive eggs that couldn't be better.

You can taste it too, which is why these heritage breed chicken eggs are also used in upscale gastronomy, such as the 2-star restaurant 'Mraz&Sohn', the star restaurant 'Tian', the 2-toque restaurant 'Cafe Kandl', and others.

The hens are allowed to live on the farm until their natural end of life. Since the roosters, upon reaching sexual maturity, can no longer be fully integrated into the group, some of them are slaughtered and are available for sale whole as "Bruderhahn" (brother rooster) at Gurkerl.at.

Our chickens moult annually and have a laying break during this time to regenerate their organism. This is another reason why our hens live with us far beyond the usual one to two laying periods and do not risk suffering health issues due to continuous laying over time.
