Type and duration of use
The film-coated tablets should be taken whole with a little water.
Magnesium Verla Film-coated Tablets should be taken before meals, as this improves the absorption of magnesium into the bloodstream.
A period of use of 4 weeks is recommended. Even long-term therapy (over years) is harmless in the case of normal renal function, as excess magnesium is excreted via the kidneys.
If you have taken more Magnesium Verla Film-coated Tablets than you should,
the side effects (diarrhoea) may be intensified.
Other symptoms such as severe fatigue are only to be expected in the case of long-term overdose and primarily in patients with impaired renal function. In the case of severe renal impairment with impaired excretion, magnesium can accumulate in the body and lead to symptoms of poisoning (drop in blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, impairment of the central nervous system, reduced reflexes, ECG changes, incipient respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest, respiratory paralysis). In such cases, contact your doctor.
If you forget to take Magnesium Verla Film-coated Tablets,
continue taking the medicine as usual. Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take the previous dose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
