Voltadol pain patch is a pain-relieving medicine.
How is it used?
What is Voltadol Schmerzpflaster and what is it used for?
Voltadol Schmerzpflaster is an analgesic medicine. It belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory/anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Voltadol Schmerzpflaster is used for the local, symptomatic short-term treatment (max. 7 days) of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises of the arms and legs resulting from a blunt injury, e.g. sports injuries in adults and adolescents aged
16 years and over.
What should you consider before taking it?
What should you be aware of before using Voltadol Pain Relief Patch?
Voltadol Pain Relief Patch must not be used
- if you are allergic to Diclofenac or any of the sonal substances mentioned in section 6. other ingredients of this medicine,
- if you are allergic to any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID, eg. acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen),
- if you have ever had asthma attacks, skin rash (hives) or swelling and irritation in the nose after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs,
- if you have an active stomach or intestinal ulcer,
- on injured skin (e.g. skin abrasions, cuts, cuts, etc.).
- on injured skin (e.g. abrasions, cuts, burns),infected skin or skin rashes (eczema)
- if you are in the last trimester of pregnancy,
- in children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Voltadol Pain Relief Patch - if you suffer or have previously suffered from bronchial asthma or allergies, in which case a spasm of the bronchial muscles (bronchospasm) may occur, resulting in difficulty breathing. - if you notice a skin rash after applying the patch containing the active substance. In this case, you must remove the patch containing the active substance immediately and stop the treatment.
- if you have kidney, heart or liver disease or if you have, or have had in the past, a
stomach or intestinal ulcer or bowel inflammation or a blood tendency.
Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period of time.
Important precautions
- The patch containing the active substance must not come into contact with or be applied to the eyes and mucous membranes.
- Elderly patients must use Voltadol pain patch with caution as they are more likely to experience side effects.
Avoid exposing the treated skin area to direct sunlight or UV radiation in a solarium after removing the patch containing the active substance to reduce the risk of a photosensitivity reaction.
Do not use Voltadol Pain Relief Patch at the same time as other diclofenac-containing or non-steroidal analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicines, whether taken topically or orally.
Use of Voltadol Pain Relief Patch with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
Provided Voltadol Pain Relief Patch is used as directed, only a small amount of diclofenac is absorbed into the body, so the occurrence of interactions described for orally taken medicines containing diclofenac is unlikely.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Pregnancy
In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy or if you want to become pregnant, Voltadol Pain Relief Patch should only be used after consulting your doctor.
During the last trimester of pregnancy, Voltadol Pain Relief Patch must not be used, as an increased risk of complications for mother and child cannot be ruled out (see "Voltadol Pain Relief Patch must not be used").
Lactation
Diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts.
Talk to your doctor before using Voltadol Pain Patch while you are breast-feeding. If you are breast-feeding, Voltadol Pain Relief Patch must not be applied directly to the breast area.
Do not drive or use machinery
Voltadol Pain Relief Patch has no effect on your ability to drive or use machinery.
How to take the medicine?
How to use Voltadol pain patch?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is one active patch twice daily.
Put one patch containing active ingredients on the painful area twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. The maximum daily dose is two active patches, even if more than one injured area needs to be treated. Treat only one painful area
at a time.
Use in children and adolescents
Voltadol Pain Relief Patch must not be used in children and adolescents under 16 years of age. There are insufficient data on efficacy and tolerability in children and adolescents under 16 years of age (see section 2).
In adolescents aged 16 years and over your child/you are advised to consult a doctor if the medicine is needed for pain treatment for more than 7 days or if the symptoms worsen.
Type of use
Only for use on the skin (topical use).
Instructions for use:
1. Cut open the sachet along the dotted line and take out the patch containing the active substance.
Applying the patch:
2.Remove one of the two protective films.
3.Stick the patch onto the area to be treated and remove the remaining protective film.
4. press the patch lightly with the palm of your hand until it adheres completely to the skin.
Removing the plaster:
5. Moisten the plaster with water, peel off one corner of the plaster and gently pull it off the skin.
6. To remove patch residue, wash the affected area with water by gently rubbing it with circular movements of the fingers.
If necessary, the patch containing the active substance can be fixed with a mesh bandage.
Apply the patch only to intact, healthy skin.
The patch containing the active substance must not be used together with an air-impermeable (occlusive)
bandage.
Do not wear the patch while bathing or showering.
You must not share the patch containing the active substance.
Duration of use
Do not use Voltadol pain patch for more than 7 days.
If the symptoms worsen or last longer than 7 days, please contact your doctor.
If you think that the effect of Voltadol Schmerzpflaster is too strong or too weak, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you have used a larger amount of Voltadol Schmerzpflaster than you should Please notify your doctor if any significant side effects occur as a result of improper use or accidental overdose (e.g. in children). He/she can advise you on any measures that may be necessary.
If you stop using Voltadol Pain Relief Patch
Do not use twice the amount if you have forgotten to use it before
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What are the possible side effects?
How to keep Voltadol Pain Relief Patch?
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and sachet after "EXP"
or "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
Do not store above 30 °C.
Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from light and moisture.
Do not use the medicine if it is damaged.
Used plasters must be folded in half with the adhesive layer facing inwards.
Do not dispose of medicines in sewage or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. By doing so, you are helping to protect the environment.

What Voltadol Pain Plasters look like and contents of the pack
Voltadol Pain Plasters are white 10 cm x 14 cm self-adhesive plasters made of non-woven fabric on one side and paper on the other.
Voltadol pain patches are available in packs of 2, 5 and 10 patches containing active ingredients, each individually packaged in sachets.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
