This medicinal product is a traditional herbal medicinal product registered exclusively on the basis of long-standing use in the above-mentioned indication.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 4 weeks, consult your doctor.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What you should be aware of before taking Crataegan?
Crataegan must not be taken,
- if you are allergic to hawthorn or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Crataegan.
If there is pain in the heart area which may radiate to the arms, the upper abdomen or the neck area, or if there is shortness of breath, or if there is an accumulation of water in the legs, a doctor must be consulted immediately.
Children and adolescents:
Crataegan is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Taking Crataegan with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
There are no known interactions.
Taking Crataegan with food and drink
Taking food and drink does not affect the effectiveness of the medicine.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
As there is insufficient data, its use during pregnancy and breast-feeding cannot be recommended.
Driving and ability to operate machinery
No studies have been conducted on the effects on driving and operating machinery.
Crataegan has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery.
Please note the alcohol content of 43 wt.%.
Crataegan contains ethanol (alcohol)
This medicinal product contains 43% ethanol by weight i.e. up to 327 mg per dose (20 drops), corresponding to 8.24 ml beer, 3.43 ml wine per dose.
A health risk exists for patients suffering from alcoholism. The alcohol content should be taken into account in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in children and patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.
How should the medicine be taken?
How to take Crataegan?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
The recommended dose is:
Adults:
3 times daily 20 drops
Use in children and adolescents
Crataegan is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
For oral use, Take undiluted or diluted with a little water (approx. 50 ml).
If you do not feel better or even worse after 4 weeks, contact your doctor.
If you have taken a larger amount of Crataegan than you shouldOverdose symptoms have not been reported so far. In case of extreme overdose you should consult a doctor.
The alcohol content of 43 wt.% should be noted.
If the entire 50 ml bottle contents are accidentally ingested, 20.24 g of alcohol will be ingested.
This may lead to alcohol poisoning, especially in young children.
If you forget to take Crataegan
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.
If you stop taking Crataegan
your symptoms may return.
If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What are the possible side effects?
How to store Crataegan?
Store in the original packaging.
Do not store above 25°C after first opening.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and outer carton (EXP:). The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.Do not use for more than 1 month after first opening the container.
Do not dispose of this medicine in waste water or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

What Crataegan contains
The active substance is a liquid extract of hawthorn.
100 g contain 70 g liquid extract of hawthorn fruit (Crataegi fructus) and hawthorn leaves with flowers (Crataegi folium cum flore) in a ratio of 1:1, drug-extract ratio (DEV) 1:1.5 - 1.7, (extractant: ethanol 49 wt.-%)
1 ml = 0.95 g
0.8 ml = approx. 0.76 g corresponds to approx. 20 drops
Alcohol content: approx. 43 wt.% ethanol
The other ingredients are: Ethanol, purified water
What Crataegan looks like and contents of the pack
Crataegan is a reddish-brown, clear solution (oral drops) and available in packs of 50ml solution.
Herbal extracts may tend to become cloudy after a long period of time, but this does not affect the effectiveness.
Crataegan is a natural product, so slight variations in colour and taste may occur.
