Application
What IS RUBRIMENT AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
This medicine is a painkiller that promotes blood circulation and can be rubbed in.
The active ingredients benzyl nicotinate and nonivamide promote skin circulation. After a short time, there is a slight reddening and a feeling of warmth on the skin.
The salicylic acid-containing active ingredients hydroxyethyl salicylate and salicylamide are quickly absorbed into the skin, which is strongly supplied with blood, and relieve muscle and joint complaints in particular.
All the active ingredients together quickly relieve pain, help relieve muscle spasms and accelerate healing by stimulating tissue metabolism.
Rapidly absorbed, non-greasy, no staining of the laundry.
Applications
For pain relief and promotion of skin circulation to relieve tension in muscle and joint complaints.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING RUBRIMENT?
Rubriment must NOT be used
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to benzyl nicotinate, nonivamide, hydroxyethyl salicylate, salicylamide or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. other ingredients of this medicine mentioned in section 6,
- on very sensitive skin,
- on inflamed or diseased skin areas, <.br>- in vascular occlusion of the arteries (blood vessels),
Rubriment Emulsion GI
- in bleeding tendencies,
- in disorders of small and minute blood vessels in diabetics,
- in severe liver and kidney diseases,
- in bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases associated with marked hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract. Inhalation of Rubriment may cause shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack,
- in infants and small children under 2 years of age (risk of laryngospasm) (see section '"3. How to use Rubriment" and section "4. What side effects may occur?"),
- during pregnancy and breast-feeding (see section Pregnancy and breast-feeding).
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your pharmacist before using Rubriment.
Sensitive skin areas such as the neck, abdomen or inner thighs should generally not be rubbed with Rubriment, or only a little.
Never apply to mucous membranes, open wounds, inflamed skin or in the eyes. Therefore, please wash your hands carefully with soap and water after using the preparation (for example, when massaging with your bare hands).
Stop treatment if a rash appears after applying Rubriment.
Rubriment must not be used together with an airtight dressing.
If you suffer or have suffered from bronchial asthma, allergic diseases or nasal polyps, you may experience shortness of breath due to narrowing of the airways, localised swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (angioedema) and hives.
Use in children aged 2 years and over and adolescents up to 18 years is not recommended as there are no clinical data on use in this age group.
Use of Rubriment with other medicines
The effect of the following medicines may be increasedwhen used at the same time as Rubriment:
- the effect of certain anticoagulant medicines (coumarin) resulting in an increased tendency to bleed, .
- The undesirable effects of methotrexate (medicinal product for the treatment of cancer) may be increased .
- The blood sugar-lowering effect of sulphonylureas (medicines against
sugar disease) may be increased, - Unwanted effects of cortisone preparations, such as gastrointestinal bleeding and water retention in the tissues, may increase .
- Saluretics and spironolactone (certain dehydrating agents): swelling may increase .
- the undesirable effects of rheumatism medicines can be intensified,
- The effect of other medicines applied to the skin may be increased.
There are insufficient data for the use of Rubriment in pregnant or breastfeeding women, therefore Rubriment must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding (see contraindications).

Driving and operating machines
Rubriment has no or only insignificant influence on the ability to drive and operate machinery.
How should the medicine be taken?
How TO USE RUBRIMENT?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults
Apply about 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of Rubriment to the painful parts of the body and massage in well. After the effect has worn off, massage Rubriment in again.
Children from 2 years and adolescents up to 18 years
Use in children from 2 years and adolescents up to 18 years is not recommended as there are no clinical data on use in this age group.
Children under 2 years of age
Rubriment must not be used in children under 2 years of age (see section "Rubriment must NOT be used" <.br>
Patients with liver and/or kidney insufficiency
Rubriment must not be used
in patients with severe liver or kidney disease.
Type of application
The duration of treatment is usually one week. If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.
Shake before each use!
Massage Rubriment until the skin feels dry again, then wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Rubriment absorbs quickly and is non-greasy, no staining of the laundry.
If you have used more Rubriment than you should
Remove any excess Rubriment applied with cold water. An increase in effect is possible with hot water.
If large quantities of Rubriment are swallowed in an unintended manner, for example by a child, please call a doctor immediately who will administer the necessary treatment. Do not try to make the child vomit.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What are the possible side effects?
HOW TO STORE RUBRIMENT Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from light. Once opened, keep for 6 months, after which the medicinal product should no longer be used.
You must not use the medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the label and outer carton after 'Use by'. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
The medicinal product should not be disposed of in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

What Rubriment contains
The active ingredients are: 100 ml Rubriment contains: 2.0 g benzyl nicotinate, 0.1 g nonivamide, 1.8 g hydroxyethyl salicylate, 0.2 g salicylamide.
The other ingredients are: Camphor, Aetheroleum Terebinthinae, Isobornyl Acetate, Lanette N, Emulgade F, Paraffin Oil, Purified Water.
What Rubriment looks like and contents of the pack
White emulsion (oil in water) for application to the skin in glass bottles of 50, 60 and 100 ml.
