1. WHAT IS EASYANGIN AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
easyangin is a lozenge for topical use in the mouth and throat.
easyangin contains the germicidal agent (antiseptic) chlorhexidine and the local analgesic agent lidocaine.
easyangin is used for the supportive, short-term local treatment of mild to moderate inflammation of the throat and oral cavity (sore throat, pharyngitis, hoarseness, inflammation of the mouth and throat (pharyngitis) and of the gums).
If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, consult your doctor.
How is it applied?
What is easyangin and what is it used for?
easyangin are lozenges for topical use in the mouth and throat.
easyangin contains the germ-killing medicine (antiseptic) chlorhexidine and the locally acting painkilling medicine lidocaine.
easyangin is used for the supportive, short-term local treatment of mild to moderate inflammation of the throat and oral cavity (sore throat, pharyngitis, hoarseness, inflammation of the mouth and throat (pharyngitis) and gums).
If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, consult your doctor.
What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What should you be aware of before using easyangin?
easyangin must not be used,
- If you are allergic to chlorhexidine or lidocaine (or a similar anaesthetic) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. .
- for larger, fresh wounds in the mouth and throat area .
- of children under 6 years of age.
- If you suffer from bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases associated with marked hypersensitivity of the airways. Inhalation of easyangin can cause shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack.
Please talk to your pharmacist before using easyangin .
If the complaints persist or the treatment does not show the expected success, a medical consultation is required as soon as possible, but after 3 days at the latest.
For severe or purulent sore throats or sore throats accompanied by high fever,
If you experience headaches, nausea or vomiting, consult a doctor.
If an allergy to other local anaesthetics of the amide type is known, a cross-allergy to lidocaine hydrochloride must be expected.
Avoid the use of this medicinal product in case of extreme allergy.
Do not use easyangin on mucosal damage because of possible wound healing problems.Local anaesthetics may impair swallowing and increase the risk of swallowing, especially in younger children.
Immediately after using the lozenges, avoid eating or drinking.
The numbness of the tongue and oral mucosa can increase the risk of bite injuries. Repeated use may cause numbness of the throat and thus difficulty in swallowing.
In the case of exudative or more severe bacterial infections, especially suspected Streptococcus pyogenes infection, simultaneous systemic antibiotic therapy is required.
easyangin can be impaired in its effect by anionic substances, which are often a component of common toothpastes. Therefore, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and wait at least 5 minutes after brushing your teeth before using easyangin.
Use of easyangin with other medicines.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.
Do not use at the same time as other germicidal medicines (antiseptics).
Betablockers (medicines for high blood pressure and certain heart conditions) and cimetidine (certain medicines for stomach and duodenal problems) may increase the side effects of high doses of lidocaine.
Use easyangin with food and drink.
Immediately after using the lozenges, avoid eating or drinking to reduce the risk of swallowing.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Since there are insufficient data, use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
Driving ability and ability to operate machinery.
Impairment of the ability to drive and operate machinery due to easyangin has not been reported.
easyangin contains sorbitol.
Please only take easyangin after consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from a sugar intolerance.
Sorbitol may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhoea. From about 9 tablets per day, sorbitol can have a mild laxative effect.
Note for diabetics:
Easyangin contains the sugar substitute sorbitol. The calorie value is 2.6 kcal/g sorbitol. One lozenge corresponds to 0.1 bread unit (BE).
Easyangin is sugar-free.
How should the medicine be taken?
How to use easyangin?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dosage is:
Adults:
1 lozenge slowly dissolve in the mouth at 2-hour intervals. A maximum daily dose of 10 tablets must not be exceeded.
Adolescents and children from 6 years:
Half the dose recommended for adults. Let 1 lozenge slowly dissolve in the mouth at intervals of 4 hours. A maximum daily dose of 5 tablets must not be exceeded.
Olderly patients and patients with impaired liver or kidney function
No data are available on elderly patients and patients with impaired liver or kidney function.
This medicinal product must not be used for longer than 3 days. If there is no relief of symptoms within 3 days, a doctor must be consulted.
Type of application:
For oral use. To suck.
If you have taken a larger amount of easyangin than you should
When used correctly, the risks of overdose are very low.
If very large amounts are taken, restlessness, ringing in the ears, difficulty breathing, cardiac arrhythmia, reduction in control of the swallowing reflex would be possible.

What easyangin contains
The active ingredients are chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate.
1 lozenge contains 5 mg chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and 1 mg lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate. The other ingredients are: Sorbitol (E 420), magnesium stearate, citric acid (anhydrous), menthol.
What easyangin looks like and contents of the pack
Smooth tablets, compressed.
White to almost white round lozenges with a taste and smell of mint.
Pack sizes: 12, 24 or 36 lozenges in press-through packs.
Not all pack sizes may be placed on the market.
