Description
VILLA ROSA – Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore
Veneto, Italy | Elegant Ripasso with Amarone character
Origin & Terroir
The Ripasso Classico Superiore comes from the historic Valpolicella area west of Verona, around Lake Garda. The morainic soils, formed by glacial movements millions of years ago, create a natural amphitheatre with diverse layers of gravel, clay, sand and humus – optimal for complex, powerful red wines.
Grape Varieties & Production Process
This classic cuvée consists of:
70 % Corvina – Structure, cherry aromas, depth
25 % Rondinella – Freshness, spice
5 % Molinara – Elegance, floral notes
Vinification – the „Ripasso“ method:
Gentle pressing & first fermentation for 6–8 days at 24–25 °C
Maturation in stainless steel tanks for 3 months
In winter, the second fermentation (Ripasso) follows on the skins of the Amarone pomace
Thereafter, 12 months of maturation in oak barrels
Cool, sterile bottling to preserve the aromas
