ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil is a traditional herbal medicinal product that is used for minor abscess-like, localised, encapsulated purulent inflammations of the skin.

ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil is used in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over.
The use of this traditional herbal medicinal product in the specified area of application is based exclusively on long-standing use.
If your symptoms do not improve after 3 days or even worsen, consult your doctor.

This medicinal product is a traditional herbal medicinal product that is registered exclusively on the basis of long-standing use for the specified areas of application.

This medicinal product is used in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over.

If you do not feel better or even feel worse after 3 days, consult your doctor.

What should you consider before taking it?

What should you consider before using ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil?

ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil must not be used,
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to larch turpentine, turpentine oil or eucalyptus or any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product listed in section 6.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your pharmacist before using ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil.

If the symptoms worsen and redness, pain or swelling occur, a doctor should be consulted.

Avoid contact with eyes.
ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil must not be applied to mucous membranes, open wounds or skin rashes.
After using the ointment, clean your hands thoroughly.

Children
Use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended due to lack of data.

Use of ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil together with other medicinal productsInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicinal products.

No interactions are known.
No studies have been conducted to investigate interactions.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicinal product.

As there is insufficient data, the use of this medicinal product is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines
No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed.

This medicinal product contains butylhydroxytoluene
Butylhydroxytoluene can cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis), irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes.

How should the medicine be taken?

How should ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil be used?

Always use this medicinal product exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over:
Apply a two to three centimetre long strip of ointment daily

Method of administration
For application to the skin.
Before applying the ointment, the skin should be carefully cleaned with a disinfectant suitable for wounds.
Depending on the size, a two to three centimetre long strip of ointment should be applied to the affected area of skin and covered with a dressing.
The dressing should be changed daily.

Duration of use
If you do not feel better or even feel worse after 3 days, consult your doctor.

Use in children
Use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended due to lack of data.

If you have used more ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil than you should
No cases of overdose are known.

What side effects are possible?

How should ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil be stored?

No special storage conditions are required for the unopened medicinal product. Do not store above 25°C after first opening.

Keep this medicinal product out of the reach of children.

Do not use this medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and the tube after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Shelf life after first opening: 6 months

Do not dispose of medicinal products in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicinal products no longer required. You can help to protect the environment.

What ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil contains

The active ingredients are:

1 g contains:

Larch turpentine (Terebinthina laricina)	54 mg
Turpentine oil (Terebinthinae aetheroleum)	72 mg
Eucalyptus oil (Eucalypti aetheroleum)	12 mg

The other ingredients are:

White petrolatum, yellow wax, stearic acid, oleic acid, polysorbate 20, rosemary oil, thyme oil of the thymol type, thymol, chlorophyll and chlorophyllin-copper complex (E141), butylhydroxytoluene (E321).
What ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil looks like and contents of the pack

ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil is a light green, transparent ointment with a smell of essential oils in an aluminium tube with a plastic screw cap.
ilon® Abscess Ointment with Eucalyptus Oil is available in tubes containing 25 g, 50 g and 100 g of ointment.
