Vorarlberger Flour "rustic and from here" Emmer ancient grain flour
Emmer, also known as two-grain, is one of the oldest types of grain in the world and was already being cultivated in the Near East 10,000 years ago. It is therefore one of the ancient grains. It is also the predecessor of the more well-known spelt.
Regionality plays a major role for us! This emmer is 100% from Vorarlberg. It was grown and harvested exclusively for the Vorarlberger Mühle by contract farmers in the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley. It was husked at the Sennhof in Rankweil and milled and packaged at the Vorarlberger Mühle in Feldkirch. This flour has never left the state of Vorarlberg. 100% of the value is generated in and for Vorarlberg. Through this regional partnership, we support farmers in the region and make an active contribution to climate protection.
About Vorarlberger Flour
The "Vorarlberger Mühle" has been in existence since 1993, the mill building has been standing in Reichsstraße - in the heart of Feldkirch - since the 1920s.
In a European comparison, the "Vorarlberger Mühle" is a relatively small mill. That's why the employees are all the more challenged to deliver the best products, with which our customers can celebrate perfect cooking and baking successes. That's why a wide variety of user-friendly specialty flours have been developed, each one a genuine Vorarlberg original. From "Vorarlberger Kuchenmehl" (Vorarlberg cake flour), to "Vorarlberger Spätzlemehl" (Vorarlberg spätzle flour), to our many "Schnell & Gut" (Quick & Good) bread baking mixes, which consist only of natural ingredients, there is something for everyone.
The "milling know-how" and the extremely careful quality control of the employees at the "Vorarlberger Mühle" ensure a consistently high flour quality.
