Guyana's Rich Heritage

Although geographically located in South America, Guyana is culturally deeply rooted in the Caribbean. Since gaining independence from Great Britain in 1966, the country has preserved its colonial past, including sugar cane cultivation and rum production. Guyana's rums, particularly the Demerara style, are renowned for their contribution to the British Navy Rum in the 19th century.

The Diamond Distillery

The Diamond Distillery, the last remaining distillery in Guyana, traces its history back to the 17th century. Today, it houses the stills of the former distilleries Enmore, Uitvlugt as well as Versaille and Savalle, enabling it to continue the unique rum styles of these traditional houses.

Tasting Profile
