Meat from snow crab (Chionoecetes japonicus), from the legs and body of the animal. The snow crab is mainly found in the northwest Atlantic and North Pacific Ocean.
The cooked meat is also the perfect base for crab salads, exclusive cocktail salads and canapés. It is ideally suited as a filling for dumplings. Particularly good: Place the leg meat with lemon juice, a little butter, some garlic and fresh herbs in the halved leg halves, prepare on the grill and serve sprinkled with sea salt.
Defrost the meat overnight in the refrigerator and squeeze it out with a freshly washed tea towel to remove excess liquid.
Latin name: Chionoecetes japonicus
Fishing area: FAO 87, North coast of Alaska
Fishing method: Traps and pots
