A tempting plant-based bowl in Asian style refined with chili. A light combination of fried tofu in sweet and sour chili sauce, crunchy salad and fried mushrooms. Rice, cooked sweet beetroot and a slightly sweet miso sauce with peanut flavor round off the whole thing perfectly.
The plant-based meals from The Green Garden & gurkerl.at are filling, but not tiring.
We prepared the bowls together with Julia, our great chef. She showed us how to prepare vegan dishes that are so delicious that you want to try them again and again, even if you love meat. As Julia says, she founded The Green Garden to convince people who normally eat meat that they don't have to eat meat every day. And what do we say to that? Julia's food looks fantastic and tastes even better.
About The Green Garden:
Actually, Julia wanted to study art history and Spanish. But at some point she had the idea of opening a vegan-vegetarian restaurant in Salzburg to explore the trends of vegan cuisine and so her restaurant also became very popular with meat eaters. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she turned her restaurant into a successful online business and the success story took its course.
Why is her concept so successful? Quite simple: „Eat the rainbow“ - colorful food simply makes people happy, says Julia from The Green Garden.
When we first tasted the dishes at Julia's, we immediately decided to launch a new 100% plant-based line for gurkerl.at with her as head chef. We want you to have the chance to taste the rainbow too :)
