Looks like pasta, tastes like pasta (which can't quite deny a certain love affair with gnocchi) but is a sweet potato.
Cooked in just 3 minutes, Batasta conjures up sweet potatoes on the table quickly, deliciously and in a completely different form.
And so that everyone can enjoy them, they are gluten-free, vegan and allergen-free.
Our Batasta is PURE NATURE
So if you're wondering where the colour of our pasta comes from, the answer is simple. From our sweet potatoes.
And since Mother Nature is the master of colour play, it can happen that not every pasta is the same as the other, just as not every sweet potato is the same as the other.

Our Batasta contains a huge portion of love and unique quality!
We know the main ingredient of Batasta from the cradle or rather, the first root, because we grow our sweet potatoes with great care and love on the banks of the Drau ourselves. There they are planted and harvested by hand. We do not use any chemicals on our fields, which guarantees 2 things:
- A lot of manual weeding
- A quality that we can live with a clear conscience
Fresh from the field, our sweet potatoes are then transformed into beautiful pasta directly on our farm, using a traditional Italian pasta machine over bronze discs. This means that, unlike their well-travelled sweet potato colleagues from Egypt, Asia or the USA, they cannot start a travel blog, but they also do not contribute to pumping even more CO2 into the air.
Fresh from the farm to the table, so to speak.

If you ask us what is behind the idea of Batasta, the answer is clear.
We wanted to do something about the enormous food waste in sweet potato cultivation
Every year, tons of the harvest end up in the garbage. Not because so many sweet potatoes are bad. No, simply because they look too different.
Because Mother Nature does not like to adhere to the perfectionism dictated by society. She lets her shoots grow as she pleases.
So many sweet potatoes are either too big, too small, too crooked or simply too different to meet the norm.
But we think being different is good (it's hard to imagine how boring life would be if everything and everyone was "equally perfect").
So the slightly different looking sweet potatoes are not simply thrown away, but made into stars by conjuring up gluten-free pasta from them.
