- if you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. Other ingredients of this medicine

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder,

- if you have severe narrowing of the airways (airway obstruction) such as.
- if your respiratory function is disturbed,
- if you are prone to gastrointestinal bleeding (due to varicose veins of the oesophagus, gastrointestinal ulcers, etc.).stomach/intestinal ulcers),

- if you have kidney disease,
- if you have liver disease.

Very rarely, the occurrence of severe hypersensitivity reactions such as extensive skin rashes accompanied by itching, fever, chills, lymph node disorders, joint pain, skin peeling and changes in blood counts has been reported.The following cases have been reported in connection with the use of Mucobene 200 mg dissolvable tablets: Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Leyll's syndrome. If any changes occur in the skin or mucous membranes, stop treatment with Mucobene 600 mg soluble powder and consult a doctor immediately.

An increased volume of liquefied bronchial mucus may occur after use of Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder. If expectoration is insufficient, the airways must be mechanically suctioned if necessary. Medical supervision is required when administered to asthma patients. Therefore, if expectoration is difficult despite the use of Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder, a doctor should be consulted immediately.

If the symptoms persist, if the symptoms are unclear or if the expected effect of the application does not occur, a doctor's consultation is required as soon as possible (after 4 - 5 days at the latest).

Use of Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder with other medicinesInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.

The effect of certain antibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines) may be reduced. Therefore, the additional intake of these antibiotics should be taken at least 2 hours before or after the use of Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder. This does not apply to the antibiotics cefixime and loracarbef.

Activated charcoal in high doses (e.g. as an antidote for poisoning) may reduce the efficacy of Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder.

If Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder is used at the same time as antitussive medicines, a dangerous build-up of secretions may occur due to the impaired cough reflex. Your doctor will carefully consider whether you should use both medicines at the same time.

Be sure to ask your doctor before combined use.

When glycerol trinitrate (medicine used to treat blood flow problems in the heart muscle [angina pectoris]) is given at the same time, its effect may be increased.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using this medicine.

As there is insufficient experience with the use of acetylcysteine during pregnancy and breast-feeding, you should only use Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder during pregnancy and breast-feeding if your treating doctor considers it absolutely necessary.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to use Mucobene 600 mg-soluble powder ?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years: 1 sachet daily.

Children and adolescents under 14 years
Mucobene 600 mg should not be used because of the high content of active substance.
For these patients, acetylcysteine is available in suitable dosage forms with a lower active ingredient content

To be taken after dissolving.
The powder is taken after meals dissolved in a ½ glass of water or fruit juice.
Always prepare the solution fresh.
Do not take the powder undissolved.
The expectorant effect is supported by copious fluid intake.

Duration of use
If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 4-5 days, you should consult a doctor.
