Fit Through The Winter
Lock down or not - we have to move. This is also important in winter for our physical and mental health. Many activities are currently not possible, as swimming pools, zoos, yoga studios & gyms have been closed for quite some time.
Your normal run is already too dull for you? The kids are falling apart despite their new Lego toys? And you'd rather watch the Pilates online class than join in with motivation? We know. That's why we've collected a few new ideas, in a way also for self-motivational reasons.

Tip 1: Alternatives To The Zoo Visit

A zoo excursion is a fixed part of the weekend plans for many families and animal lovers. Currently, zoos are closed. How can you motivate your children (or yourself) to go out in the fresh air in cold and unfriendly January weather?
The Lainzer Tierpark is also open daily in January from 8 am to 5 pm. Access is possible via all gates. Take the car or grab your bike and head to the 13th district. What can you and your companions discover there? In addition to the beautiful Hermes Villa, there are forest playgrounds and forest animals (wild boars, deer, roe deer and wild sheep) in the park. Our tip: Reading tracks on the forest floor - fun for young and old!
The Animal Garden Schönbrunn is closed, but you can still see many animals during a walk in the palace park. Attentive visitors will spot squirrels, foxes and bunches of birds as well as birds.
Secret tip: Not far from the park, on the grounds of the Maria Theresa barracks, live three giraffes named Carla, Rita and Kimbar. When the animals are in the outdoor enclosure, you can see them from the Seckendorff-Gudentweg.
For a snack in between, you still need some provisions? We have put together a selection for you and your children. Take your pick, we'll take care of the rest!
We wish you a wonderful winter outing!
