The animals for the Berger Tierwohl-Programm have 100% more space, outdoor access, and soft straw bedding. The pigs can live out their instincts – from movement to social contacts – and are exclusively fattened with guaranteed GMO-free feed from the surrounding area. The criteria for the program include 100% more space per animal than legally required, separation of lying and activity areas, soft straw bedding, the possibility of outdoor access, as well as the avoidance of tail docking and castration under anesthesia.
