Frisee Salad

Frisée lettuce is also called curly endive.

The narrow, long leaves are deeply serrated and green at the tips, while they become lighter and yellowish towards the middle. Since frisée lettuce looks very decorative, it is also often used for decorations on cold buffets. The taste is tart to slightly bitter, which is why frisée lettuce is particularly suitable for piquant salads.

Usage

Frisée lettuce tastes particularly good with fruit or fruity dressings, but also with hearty ham or bacon.

Storage recommendation

Lettuce should always be stored in the refrigerator, ideally at 5° C and high humidity. The vegetable compartment is best suited for this.
