Application
It is best to pull the DermaPlast® alginate cotton out of the bottle with clean tweezers. Always pull only as much cotton out of the bottle with the tweezers as you need, and cut the DermaPlast® alginate cotton with clean scissors. Afterwards, put the unused cotton back into the bottle with the tweezers. Usually, about 5 – 10 cm of DermaPlast® alginate cotton is sufficient.
Carefully place the piece of cotton on the bleeding wound, and cover the wound and the DermaPlast® alginate cotton with gauze bandage or compresses until the bleeding stops. When the bleeding has stopped, remove the DermaPlast® alginate cotton and the gauze bandage or compresses, and dress the wound with a fresh plaster. For nosebleeds, insert a piece of hemostatic cotton into the bleeding nostril and press on the stuffed nostril from the outside for 5 minutes.
