Alpenkaviar Osietra Caviar
The Russian sturgeon is found in its natural habitat primarily in the Caspian Sea and its tributaries, especially the Volga, but also in the Black Sea, and used to migrate up the Danube to spawn, reaching Vienna and beyond. Its caviar usually has a slightly brownish shimmering to golden-green color, and the roe ranges from 2.7mm to over 3.0 mm. The intense nutty flavor leaves a long-lasting note on the palate. Osietra Caviar is certainly the most well-known caviar variety, along with Beluga. Throughout the entire Alpine region, the company ALPENKAVIAR is the sole producer of this exclusive caviar.

About the Producer:
A few years ago, Helmut Schlader returned to his roots in his homeland on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park. Here, he founded the company Alpenkaviar with his Portuguese wife Soraia. Because precisely here, the ideal conditions prevail for the rearing and production of the finest caviar.
The Russian, Siberian sturgeons and sterlets swim in their own crystal-clear spring water from the mountains. And it is precisely this water, combined with careful processing and mild salting, that gives Alpenkaviar its unique, nutty taste.
