Steppe Sage Salvia nemorosa
Large ∅ 19cm Pot
A floral dream for summer! The Steppe Sage, also known as Ornamental Sage, impresses with upright, violet-blue flower spikes, which provide color in the bed from June to September. Its intense fragrance and long flowering period make it a true magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies.
With its compact, bushy growth, Salvia nemorosa is ideal for perennial beds, natural gardens, borders, or pots. Easy to care for, drought-tolerant, and winter-hardy – an indispensable continuous bloomer that brings Mediterranean flair and vibrancy to any garden.
After the first pruning, a magnificent re-bloom often follows in late summer!
CULTIVATION
The small village of Gaubitsch is located in the northern Weinviertel. Here, Cornelia & Thomas Schmidl run their 3rd generation nursery, which has existed since 1952.
Here, plants like the Steppe Sage are lovingly cultivated.
Gardening is a craft that requires a lot of intuition, knowledge, and understanding of nature.
The nursery produces not only winter-hardy perennials, but also herbs and vegetable plants, summer flowers, summer cut flowers, and much more. Meanwhile, a part of the nursery is also organic certified. In our organic sub-operation, microgreens, cut basil, and tomatoes grow.
Sustainability is important to us! Therefore, for over ten years, we have been relying on plant strengthening and the use of beneficial insects.
