Spitzkohl

The pointed cabbage probably originates from China and was imported to Europe in the 19th century and became native here. This type of cabbage unmistakably owes its name to its conically pointed leaves.

The pointed cabbage can be processed like its relative, the white cabbage, and thanks to its delicate flavour, it is ideal for many different dishes. In addition to the classic coleslaw, it is used in casseroles or pasta dishes.

Storage recommendation

They should be stored cool and dark. The outer leaves should be removed before storage. Cut heads stay fresh longer if they are wrapped in foil and stored in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator.
