Antares [Greek – the red giant] the brightest star in the sky in the zodiac sign of Scorpio – the star sign of the winemaker Richard Zahel, represents the top red wine cuvée of the Weingut Zahel.

This wine is a cuvée of 70% Sankt Laurent, 20% Rotburger, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot

Style: in the nose intensive morello cherry with delicate hints of bitter chocolate, on the palate intensive dark berry note, light spice, ripe tannin, round, long-lasting finish.

The Weingut Zahel is now in its 4th generation, the Wiener Gemischte Satz has always been the focus.

About 30 years ago, the winery wrote "Wiener Gemischter Satz" on a wine label for the first time, thus initiating a renaissance for the company. Today, the winery is the only Viennese winemaker to cultivate vineyards in all of Vienna's wine-growing zones on approx. 30 ha of vineyards. The wine-growing regions in Mauer, Oberlaa and am Nussberg are of particular importance.

Since the 2017 vintage, the Weingut Zahel has been 100% organically certified with all its vineyards. And since the 2018 vintage, the winery has been able to count itself among the Demeter winemakers and is Vienna's only Demeter winery. For the Weingut Zahel, biodynamics means preserving healthy soils and biodiversity in harmony with nature and people.
