Grape varieties: Merlot, Zweigelt, Carbernet Sauvignon

A complex, spicy red wine with a beautiful structure and fullness, which is wonderful to drink, but can also be stored for at least 15 years.

A wine that presents itself in a medium cherry red with delicate violet reflections.

Already in the nose you can notice the barrel aging by the spicy notes, such as pepper and cedar wood, as well as toasted black bread. In addition, there are tart fruity notes of sloe, cassis leaf, juniper berry and plum.

On the palate it is very juicy and at the same time structured with fine acidity and a pronounced but polished tannin structure. The alcohol seems moderate for an expressive red wine.

The medium-strong finish is clearly characterized by the tart fruity notes and the fine spice of the wood.

Serving and food recommendation:        

A red wine that should be enjoyed at about 16-17°C from a larger glass.

It goes perfectly with game dishes such as venison leg with fried potato rösti, or with deer goulash with spaetzle and cranberries.

Also with beef fillet baked in puff pastry with Madeira glaze, as well as suckling pig with bacon plums and plum sauce on braised white cabbage.

A small family winery on the edge of the Leithagebirge and at the foot of Lake Neusiedl, which cultivates the vineyards organically, gently and carefully. A special feature of the wines is on the one hand the extraordinary soils such as limestone and slate and on the other hand the decades of experience of the winemaker, who constantly tells new stories through continuous development.
