The Weingut Zahel is now in its 4th generation, with the Viennese mixed set always being the focus.
About 30 years ago, the winery wrote "Wiener Gemischter Satz" on a wine label for the first time, thus initiating a renaissance for the company. Today, the winery is the only Viennese winegrower to cultivate vineyards in all of Vienna's wine-growing zones on approx. 30 ha of vineyards. The wine-growing regions in Mauer, Oberlaa and on the Nussberg are of particular importance.
Since the 2017 vintage, Weingut Zahel has been 100% organically certified with all its vineyards. And since the 2018 vintage, the winery has been able to count itself among the Demeter winegrowers and is Vienna's only Demeter winery. For Weingut Zahel, biodynamics means preserving healthy soils and biodiversity in harmony with nature and people.
