Rotgipfler 13.5% Vol. Alc.
The name of the Rotgipfler grape variety comes from the fact that both the leaves of the young shoots and the shoot tips and leaf veins have a reddish color. Today it is very rare and can only be found in the thermal region south of Vienna:
Wine Description:
Clear, light straw yellow with platinum-colored reflections. Elegant, complex aroma of pineapple and citrus fruits: ripe lemons, lime zest, oranges; but also jasmine blossom, ginger, a buttery note reminiscent of panettone, as well as a certain smoky component of pine needles. On the palate, a hearty, fresh acidity that melts around the subtle fruit sweetness and carries the medium-bodied body lively. Citrus fruits appear again, along with some pineapple, honeydew melon, and lime blossom honey. The long finish is carried by a slightly salty citrus note.
Goes well with:
Poultry dishes, also game birds such as partridge or pheasant, coq au vin, Asian-inspired tender pink duck breast with red cabbage and orange salad. It can also be considered wherever an elegant red wine scores points.
