BIO Mini Kiwi

The Sharp-toothed Actinidia, also known as kiwi berry, honeyberry, kokuwa, kiwai or small-fruited kiwi, is a plant species in the family Actinidiaceae. It is native to East Asia.

The bare, fleshy, spherical to elongated berries, with a length of 2 to 3 cm, which end more or less like a beak, contain numerous seeds. When ripe, the fruit changes colour depending on the variety, from purple-red to grey-brown to greenish-yellow.

The fruits ripen between August and October and taste very sweet.

About the Producers

The organic mini kiwis grow at the Jandl family farm in Styria.

The VON HERZEN Biobauern have existed in their current form since 2008. Through the merger of Austrian organic farmers, forces could be bundled in a future-oriented way. Every year, approximately 25,000 tons of organic fruits are marketed through this producer organization. It serves as a direct link between farmers and consumers. This is unique and offers customers the opportunity to do more for the development of organic farming and our local agriculture.

The farms are located in different regions of Styria and Lower Austria. In Styria, organic apples come from the East Styrian Hill Country, South Styria, and West Styria. The Lower Austrian farms cultivate orchards in the Weinviertel and Mostviertel regions.
