The Schlögl poultry farm has existed since 1973, when Anton Schlögl took over the family business - a small farm in Draßmarkt - and began to specialise in keeping laying hens. Since summer 2012, Anton Schlögl's eldest daughter Barbara Schlögl has been running the business, continuing the family tradition. Every week, the Burgenland-based company with about 50 employees markets about 2 million fresh eggs and is Austria's market leader in coloured eggs.
As a link between Austrian farms and the food trade, SCHLÖGL-EI is a secure buyer and marketer for 80 farms that produce eggs from a wide variety of husbandry systems (from organic eggs to free-range and barn eggs), thus guaranteeing a secure livelihood for domestic farmers.
All products are produced GMO-free. In order to be able to guarantee this, they undergo regular checks by independent inspection bodies.
