Château Le Vieux Fort is ideally located in the commune of Valeyrac at the northern tip of the Médoc, where the Gironde flows into the Atlantic. The Bergey family has been writing the history of this winery since 1925. Today the 4th generation is at work.
Thanks to the diversity of the three very differently structured plots, the terroir is representative of the Médoc. It allows for diverse assemblages. The 30-year-old vines are another trump card. Such worthy growths, in fact, yield a grape juice with a concentration that is necessary for the production of great wines. The means of reducing yields (high planting density, green harvesting...) contribute to the production of grapes of excellent quality. After sorting, these can mature into wine in the newly renovated cellar. The Cru Bourgeois full of character!
