Chinese cabbage, also known as Peking cabbage, Japanese cabbage, or celery cabbage, is a vegetable plant. Chinese cabbage forms a firm, oval to narrow cylindrical head weighing approximately 1–3 kg. Its leaves are mostly yellow-green and have broad, white, slightly curled leaf ribs.
About the producers
In 2011, then 18-year-old Michael Herzog began growing vegetables on his parents' farm. He was simply fascinated by the experience of seeing a small seed grow into a plant in a relatively short period of time, which would later end up on our plates. So the conventional pig fattening operation was gradually converted into a vegetable operation. But after a short time, Michael and his parents realized that they would much rather eat their vegetables without pesticides, and of course they wanted to offer their customers pesticide-free vegetables as well. That's why it was unanimously decided to convert the farm to organic in 2015. Many new challenges arose for the young, innovative farmer, but challenges that he gladly mastered, as they were about healthy food and sustainable agriculture. So improvements were gradually made in the field in order to produce tasty, high-quality vegetables for you.
Today, a 7-member team at Michi's farm ensures a regular supply of vitamins to your plates. His farm is AMAGAP certified, of course BIO certified, and has also been very successfully audited according to HACCP guidelines for hygiene and occupational safety.
Storage recommendation
Lettuce should always be stored in the refrigerator, ideally at 5° C and high humidity. The vegetable compartment is best suited for this.
