The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is one of the most popular craft beers in the USA. On the nose, it is reminiscent of citrus fruits and grapefruit. On the palate, it is intensely fruity and bitter.

Sierra Nevada was founded in 1979 by Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi in Chico, California. Ken says the name came from his love of hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The two borrowed money from friends and family to pay for the first equipment and accommodation. The first brew was the Pale Ale, which was to become the brewery's flagship. Over the years, the brewery grew steadily and so they moved to the current building in 1989, which of course always had to be expanded.
