BIO runner beans, yellow

There is a distinction between bush beans and pole beans. While bush beans grow in a bush-like manner and have short, sturdy stems, pole beans need support and have long, thin stems. Both bush and pole beans are green-podded or yellow-podded, depending on the variety. Beans with yellow pods are called wax beans. But not only the pods can vary greatly in shape and color, so can the seeds: round, spherical, flat, long, white, light over reddish brown to black and colorfully speckled.

Yellow beans should only be blanched briefly in hot water, then braised briefly in cream, butter or melted bacon and served as a side dish.
